Check out full DIY blog post below for step by step on how to create
your own wooden floor mirror! The following steps are specific to a mirror sizin29"Wx77"L.
Materials Needed:
(4) Pieces of Wood
(1) 18 in. W x 68 in. L Frameless Mirror (Glacier Bay)
(1) Small Can of Wood Stainer
(1 or 2) Large Clamps
(4) Flat Corner Brackets (optional)
(1) Bottle of Wood Glue
(1)Wood Stainer Brush

STEP ONE - PURCHASING &
PREPPING THE WOOD
Purchase two 6"Wx8'L planks of wood.
Purchase wood of any type. I personally use generic, unfinished common board from Home Depot. (Feel free to use a nice, more expensive wood type.)
Cut each 8' plank into two pieces- 77"L and 17"L .
The two 77"L pieces will be used for the sides of the mirror frame and the two 17"L pieces will be used for the top and bottom of the mirror's frame.

STEP TWO - ASSEMBLING THE FRAME
Apply wood glue at one end of the short piece of wood and use clamp to bond the two pieces.
If you have another clamp available, do the same, clamping the other two wood pieces together. If not, wait until the first two pieces dry, then use the clamp on the remaining two wood pieces.
Be sure to leave glued, clamped pieces to dry overnight or throughout the day.

STEP THREE - STAINING THE WOOD
Once the frame has been assembled, select a wood stain color of your choice to stain the wood.
I personally like to use Varathane (because it's a little thinner, so it allows you to control how many layers you want to apply to control how dark the color turns out.)
Be sure to use a wood stainer brush to apply the stainer.

STEP FOUR - PREPPING THE MIRROR
Leave mirror frame to dry overnight or throughout the day.
Be sure to stand the mirror to test it's sturdiness.

STEP FIVE - ATTACHING THE MIRROR
Be sure the mirror frame is fully dry before beginning this step.
Flip mirror frame over. Use provided mirror clips to attach the mirror to the wooden frame. The mirror should slightly overlap the wooden frame on all sides to allow surface for attaching clips.
(If you want additional support, add flat metal corner brackets at each corner.)
I personally left the back of the mirror exposed, but you can always purchase something to attach on the backside of the mirror as a cover -this will add a few additional steps.

STEP SIX - FINAL PRODUCT!
This is the final step!
Place your new mirror somewhere in your home! I suggest placing it in a corner location, but any available wall works too!
Thank you for visiting! I hope you enjoyed creating this gorgeous piece as much I did!
